 About Rose MuenkerThe founder of Get Great Results shares her background and experience.Whether I'm writing sales letters that turn prospects into clients or transforming "technobabble" into ordinary language, I enjoy helping organizations and businesses achieve their communication goals. Like most Americans, I grew up taking reading and writing for granted. That changed when I became a Peace Corps Volunteer and coordinated a literacy program for teenagers and young adults in a remote Brazilian town. The students eagerly attended the evening classes even though they were exhausted from working 12-hour days in the fields. Forming letters on paper and sounding out written words were difficult, awkward tasks, but, thankful for the gift of education, they persevered. Two years later at my farewell party, the students stood at the front of the classroom and read tributes that they had personally written. That evening was the most rewarding experience of my life. It emphasized the power of expression and the confidence that the written word can give each of us. When interacting with clients, I draw upon the priceless lessons learned in Peace Corps, as well as 30 years of experience in a variety of industries. My professional background includes sales and marketing in Fortune 100 manufacturing and telecommunications companies; project management in information technology firms; and teaching university-level communications courses. As a professional writer, I have worked with businesses, educational institutions, foundations, entrepreneurs, publications, public relations firms, and travel and hospitality companies. To feed my passion for our world's cultural diversity and natural wonders, I publish two educational websites: One World Heritage, which features news and travel articles about the 830 World Heritage Sites, and World Heritage Pointer, which explores these special places with fun adventure stories, puzzles and games for kids. For the record, I hold an MA from Stanford University, Stanford, California, and a BA from The American University School of International Service, Washington, DC.
